Leonardo da Vinci, Self-portrait
My inspirations include Leonardo da Vinci, who pioneered the technique of Red Chalk drawing in the late 1400's. During the 16th and 17th centuries, red chalk become a favorite drawing medium among artists in Italy and throughout Europe. Raffaello Sanzio, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Jacopo Pontormo, and Annibale Carracci, are among the old masters that I admire for their sensitive drawings in red chalk.
